Prof. Dr. med. dent. Hannes Wachtel has been working in a joint-practice with Dr. Wolfgang Bolz since 1993, as well as teaching at the medical faculty of Charité Berlin, Germany, and the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

His passion for research and teaching and the special care he gives to his patients define his style as a dentist.

In 1993 Prof. Wachtel gained his post-doctorate degree in periodontology at Charité Berlin and in the same year co-founded with Dr. Bolz both the practice clinic at the Rosenkavalierplatz and the Institute for Periodontology and Implantology (IPI GmbH).

As a member of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology editorial board he has achieved an excellent worldwide reputation and he is a sought-after speaker at national and international conventions. His work in microsurgical operation techniques has particularly had far-reaching influences on dental medicine.

Prof. Wachtel has been an active member of the board of the German Society for Periodontology (DGP) and has taught at Charité Berlin, Germany since 1993, and the University of Gothenburg, Sweden since 2004. Both institutions are amongst the leading global educational and research institutions for dental medicine.
