Modern, ceramically filled composite materials are glued directly to the tooth using an ‘adhesive-technique’. The material is hardened through the exposure to light, after which it is completely impervious to bacteria, but only if care is taken to insert it in layers and with all moisture removed (cofferdam technique). Nowadays this treatment often replaces complex mould or ceramic fillings. Adhesive dental procedures also present the opportunity of altering teeth in form and color, preventing the need for harmful abrasive finishing of the teeth. Specialized training is absolutely necessary to be able to perform this treatment.

Dental Hygiene & Prevention

The analysis of disease-causing germs combined with a full review of the patient’s medical history forms the basis for the treatment of gum disease (periodontitis). Our specially trained dental hygienists help you to battle against this dangerous disease.

The identification, prevention and treatment of tooth decay and gum disease as well as the lifelong aftercare of treated patients are the main responsibilities of dental hygienists.
